The Zine Arranger is a little web-tool I made to do zine layouts on the computer, so you don't have to manually flip around all of the pages just right before you print. If you have a PDF version of your zine, just load it up on the Zine Arranger, set it up for what size & all you want, and hit Print!
There's also more informaion about using the tool on the itch.io page.
I've been working on a big update for the Zine Arranger recently, and it's almost ready to release! I've added a lot of new size options, and I could use help testing them. Soon, I will release a 'beta version' of the update on this page, so folks can try it out and let me know if anything is going wrong.
Version 1.1 (pending)
I started trying to add a 1/16th size zine option, and then I got SO carried away. I ended up adding SEVEN new sizes. Some of them are so tiny, they're a little silly.
Sort of a funky 6x2 Minizine
The more typical 4x4 micro zine with the funky folding pattern.
Similar to the Micro-Mini, but folded in a 6x4 arrangement.
See how I started getting carried away with this? 8x4.
6x6
8x6. At this point, it starts getting hard for the back cover to fold all the way over all the pages.
8x8!! A very tiny, very silly fellow. If you do double-sided, it'll have 128 pages!
Normally, Quarter Size zines have two different sets of pages on each sheet, and you'll cut & stack them to make the full zine. This option will print two copies of the same pages on each sheet, so when you cut the stack in half, you'll have two complete zines.
Added options to include lines to mark where to cut and fold the printed zine.
Prints a solid-line guide around the outer edge of the zine, so if you end up with printer margins, you'll know where to cut.
Prints solid-line guides along the interior edges that will need to be cut.
Prints a dotted-line guide along edges that need to be folded.
Added buttons to auto-fill 11"x17" and A3 paper dimensions, for the large format zinesters out there!
If you look at the spine of most books, you'll notice that there are a bunch of smaller 'booklets' all stitched/glued in to the binding. Each little booklet is called a 'signature'. Most zines are just one signature, with all their sheets are nested in each other and folded together. But if you wanted to make a longer form zine with a more complex binding, now you can set how many sheets go into each signature. (That is to say, full sheets of paper, as printed. There's also a counter that will tell you how many zine pages that will be.)
